From June 27 to 29, the 20th Anniversary European Venous Forum was held in Zurich. This year EVF 2019 became one of the main scientific events for phlebologists all over the world, which was visited with great interest by vascular surgeons AngioLife Alexander Voloshin and Alexander Suzdalenko.
At the congress, reports were presented not only from European countries, but also from the USA, Australia, India and Japan. EVF 2019 topics covered all areas of modern phlebology from early diagnosis and prevention of the initial stages of varicose veins to the treatment of advanced forms of post-thrombotic disease and trophic changes in the skin of the legs.
Special attention at the congress was devoted to “non-thermal” methods of treating varicose veins with the help of “bioglue”, however, due to the insufficient number of observations in the long-term period and a number of controversial issues, the EVLK and RFA still remain the “gold standard” in the treatment of varicose veins.
One of the most interesting and discussed presentations was a report from Ukraine, which was presented by Professor Chernukha Larisa Mikhailovna, devoted to EVLА in the treatment of patients with congenital anomalies of the deep venous system.
During the congress, our vascular surgeons managed to communicate and exchange experiences with leading phlebology specialists from around the world.
